DHARBANDORA: Congress leader Ketan Bhatikar was declared dead at the Primary Health Centre (PHC), Dharbandora, after being brought in by 108 ambulance from the Biodiversity area in Mollem around 3:30 am, officials said.
According to PHC medical officer Dr Balakrishna, the patient was examined on arrival but showed no response and was declared dead at 3:45 am.
He said Collem Police were informed immediately and the body was sent for postmortem to ascertain the exact cause of death, including whether it was due to a snake bite or other medical reasons.
The doctor further noted that the deceased’s lips had turned blue during examination, an indication that may suggest oxygen deprivation. However, he clarified that the postmortem report will determine the exact cause of death.
