The Calangute block congress along with the supporters and workers of the party have been unitedly working to keep the congress flag flying high in the constituency.The support shown by the people towards the party has been tremendous and overwhelming during the campaign which has already kickstarted in Parra village of Calangute constituency.
All the three congress ticket aspirants in the form of Agnelo Fernandes, Joseph Sequeira and Anthony menezes have been unitedly campaigning and have assured the people that they would stand by each other whosoever gets the party ticket amongst them.
The block committee and its members have been unanimous in their demand ,that no imported candidate from another political party should be given the congress ticket.The President Mr.Benedict D’Souza has rubbished the rumours of Lobo joining the party.He said that he has been deliberately planting false news knowing that the ground below his feet is shaky ,and that the people of the constituency are of the firm opinion to reject him and are seeking a change.
The party’s senior leader Shri.Rahul Gandhi has already made an announcement during the recent workers convention,that defectors shall have no place in the party.And the incumbent Calangute MLA, shall be known to be, as no less than those ten defectors who jumped ship ,as he [Lobo] has himself publicly stated in the past that he [Lobo] was the one who engineered the split of those ten congress MLA’s.
Besides,Shri Rahul Gandhiji was also sympathetic towards the environmental destruction done through the three linear projects in Goa ;and had stated the congress party would not allow such environmental destruction.
Lobo has already carried out massive environmental destruction of Calangute constituency equivalent to that of the three linear projects!
Besides Senior Congress leader and Goa election in-charge Shri.P.Chidambaram has already stated that tickets would be given in consultation with the active participation of the active block members.The newly formed block has been working overnight to ensure the party’s victory in the forthcoming assembly elections in 2022.
The congress workers have stated that he is trying to use his bargaining power with the BJP and other political parties to seek a ticket for his wife .
Stating that people are already fed up of ‘family raj ‘ the workers have strongly ruled out any possibility of he joining the party and further said that he is a threat and a liability to any political party.
The BJP is having its ideology and principle totally opposite to that of the Congress party, and in such a situation the congress party will definitely not induct any such BJP import with such background in the congress party.
The people of Calangute constituency are of the opinion, that he has already realised that his defeat is imminent.His money power will definitely not influence the electorate this forthcoming assembly elections.
It is common knowledge that,he is an opportunist and a political traitor and it is for this reason that Ex-CM Late.Manohar Parrikar had kept him out from the cabinet after the formation of the government in 2017.
The Calangute block congress along with the congress leaders have already completed its third day of campaign in Parra village and have received a great positive response from the people.
