Police find fishwater spillage theory as suspicious, says it was rash negligent ride of sports bike.

CANACONA: In a new twist to the Motorbike mishap that took the life of a 30 year old woman pillion-rider, Canacona police have arrested the KTM Duke motorbike Rider Rohit Patil of Hotegal (Karnataka) for the rash and negligent riding and endangering the lives of others in the fatal mishap that took the life of 30 year old Divya Naik of Ankola (Karnataka) at Maxem (Loliem) on Sunday Monday.
Canacona PI Harish Raut Dessai informed, 34 –year old Patil is booked and placed under arrest U/s 279 (for rash and negligent driving) and 304 (a) for endangering lives, on Sunday itself.
The accused is also subjected to Alcohol Test and other investigation is being conducted in the mishap. Police says fish-water spillage theory is suspicious and is not in keeping with the ground reality of the mish. Raut Dessai pointed out that where the KTM Duke Motorbike skidded is a one-way road section of NH66 (towards Karwar) going up the slope of Dapot-Maxem, and normally fish-laden containers and other vehicles are plying going down the slope on otherside of the NH-66 again a one-way lane towards Canacona-Margao.
The mishap took place on the one-way road towards Karwar, where the motorbike was dragged for over several metres before hitting a roadside electricity pole, and the pillion rider directly hitting her head(near forehead) to the same pole and fell dead.
‘During our enquiry, we found no traces of fish-water spillage on the road, particularly where the motorbike is reported to have skidded and dragged for several metres before hitting a roadside Electricity Pole, and simultaneously the pillion-rider hit her head to the same pole’.
Incidentally, the Electricity Pole is lying just about ½ a metre from the NH66 border.
PI Raut Dessai further informed that the body of mishap victim Divya Naik is handed over to her family members for conduct of last rites after the conducto of Postmortem on Monday.
It is reportedly learnt that the KTM Duke Motorbike which Rohit Patil was riding on the day, belongs to his friend and the duo were proceeding to Hotegal (Karnataka) when the mishap at Maxem (Loliem) took the life of the pillion rider. Patil wearing a helmet had only minor bruises and was discharged after provided with first aid at CHC Canacona, before he was arrested by Canacona police. ‘The offence is however bailable’, informed PI.
