CANACONA: Passing a strong message that no illegality in destroying the environment will be taken lightly, Canacona’s Day. Town Planner office registers two more police complaints against alleged illegal land-filling of paddy-field/khazans and illegal hill cutting activities in Canacona taluka.
In one of the written Complaint from Kashish Gauns Dessai, D’man Grade II attached to the Office of Deputy Town Planner Canacona- Goa, that prior to 13/08/2024 at Time Not Known at property bearing survey No.35/13 of Chaudi Village of Canacona, an accused Builder titled as M/s Bharat Developers and Realtors Pvt Ltd, carried out an illegal land filling in an area earmarked as paddy fields/ Khazans, admeasuring 35 meters x 10 meters to a height of 2 meters for personal gain.
Canacona police registers the offense u/sec. 17-A and 17-B of Town and Country Planning Act and further investigation is carried out by PSI Shivram Gauns of Canacona Police Station.
In a second written complaint of Sarino Cletus Fernandes (D’man Grade-II) attached to Town and Country Planning Department, Canacona to the effect that on Prior to 11/06/2024 at Time Not Known at Property bearing Survey No. 242/1 of village Poinguinim of Canacona Taluka, accused person namely Dattaraj Ramchandra Kamat, carried out illegal hill cutting admeasuring 1) 10m X 20m X 5m (Height average) and 5m X 10m X 5m (Height-Average) for personal gain.
Canacona police booked the accused u/s 17-A, 17-B of TCP Act 1974 and PSI Babu Dessai of Canacona Police Station is carrying out the further investigation.
