MAPUSA: Case has been filed against three women for offering massage services at Candolim Beach without proper authorization.
As per official reports, the accused individuals were taken before the Deputy Director of Tourism at Panaji, Goa, and were found guilty of violating Section 3 of the Goa Tourist Places Protection and Maintenance Act 2001.
They were ordered to pay a penalty of ₹ 25,000 each, which they failed to do, leading to the registration of an offence against them.
The Deputy Director of Tourism, Kuldeep Arolkar, brought the incident to the attention of the police, resulting in action being taken by the Calangute police.
The police reported that the accused persons were seen offering massage services to tourists on the beach without permission from the competent authority, thereby violating several sections.
It was disclosed that a viral video of the massage taking place on the Candolim beach prompted the police to act, following complaints from locals.
Earlier, the Goa government had cautioned against illegal massage activities on beaches, after receiving complaints from residents.
