PANAJI: The Central Government has issued a notification expressing its intention to acquire an additional 8,863 square metres of land for the four-laning of the Bhoma to Old Goa stretch of National Highway 748 in Goa.
The proposed acquisition pertains to the section between Km 135.050 and Km 142.050 and forms part of the ongoing highway expansion project being executed under the Hybrid Annuity Mode (HAM).
As part of the statutory process, landowners and other interested parties have been invited to submit objections to the proposed acquisition within 21 days from the date of publication of the notification.
Authorities have stated that objections must be submitted in writing to the Special Land Acquisition Officer, PWD–National Highways, Altinho, Panaji.
The notification further states that all objections received within the stipulated period will be examined by the competent authority. Individuals raising objections will be given an opportunity to present their case either personally or through a legal representative before a final decision is taken.
