PANAJI: Chandan Caro and Ishita Colaso emerged as the standout performers at the YMCA All Goa Major Ranking Table Tennis Tournament, completing impressive triple crowns at the Indoor Stadium, Campal, where the finals were held on Sunday.
Chandan dominated across three categories, winning the Boys U15, U17 and Men’s titles. He began his winning run with a 3-0 victory over Dhruva Kamat in the U15 final before edging Rishan Shaikh 3-2 in the U17 decider. In the Men’s final, Chandan produced another strong performance to defeat former State champion Diljeet Velingkar 4-2.
Ishita also completed a triple crown after winning the Girls U15, U17 and U19 titles. She defeated Tisha Shaikh 3-1 in the U15 final, Sanisha Sinha 3-0 in the U17 decider and Neeza Kamat 3-2 in a closely contested U19 final.
Neeza bounced back from the U19 defeat to secure the Women’s singles crown, beating Anushri Naik 3-0.
The tournament also witnessed several notable results in the younger age groups. Aarish Shaikh upset top seed Ashank Dalvi 3-1 to win the Boys U11 title, while Anaya Shukla defeated Shaurya Dessai 3-0 in the Girls U11 final. Yuvaan Sanke beat Aryan Kanji 3-0 in Boys U13, with Tisha Shaikh producing another upset by defeating top seed Sachi Dessai 3-0 in Girls U13.
Rishan Shaikh added another upset in Boys U19, defeating top seed Chandan 3-1. In the U9 categories, Arjun Rane beat Yajat Keny 3-1 in Boys, while Claire George defeated Swara Gude 3-0 in Girls.
YMCA Panjim organised the tournament in association with the Goa Table Tennis Association and Sports Authority of Goa.
