PANAJI: Chicalim Sub Ditsrict hospital on Monday began operations as the 30 bedded Covid Hospital.
Around 10 patients were also admitted in the Hospital on Monday.
When contacted, Chicalim SDH Health officer and Medical Dr Anil Umraskar said that the hospital has 60 beds of which 30 beds would be used for the Covid hospital
“The hospital has begun admitting and treating Covid patients from today and we are initially admitting patients with mild symptoms and who need oxygen or other medications,” he said.
He stated that the Government has provided us the oxygen supply and required medications.
“We will still increase the required stock of medicines and oxygen to cater to patients. We will also have our OPD open where other patients will be checked for other ailments but the only thing is though we will check patients with other ailments, we will not admit them and send them to Hospicio hospital because the mixing up of patients with other ailments and the Covid patients could be a risky affair. We have admitted ten patients as of now,” said Dr Umraskar.
