Before the Model Code of Conduct comes into force with the formal announcement of elections in Goa, foundation stones of various projects are being laid, and new projects are being inaugurated at a breakneck pace. But the fact is, many of the projects being inaugurated are incomplete.
The Karaswada to Bambolim Highway is far from complete as the work on stretch (the missing link) between Guirim and Porvorim (teen building) is yet to start, yet Nitin Gadkari, the Minister for MoRTH, inaugurated the widened highway.
The CM must tell the Goans why the Pernem to Karaswada highway is delayed due to the irresponsible work of contractor M Venkat Rao, kin of BJP top functionary?

Running against time, Chief Minister Dr Pramod Sawant and the BJP’s Central leaders and Ministers are busy inaugurating some incomplete projects in Goa.
Take for example, Wednesday, the CM inaugurated 12 projects and laid three foundation stones.
Inaugurations were of a multi-purpose hall, Sankhalim, government primary high school, Harvalem, inauguration of dental college, inauguration of a bridge across Rua de Ourem, the inauguration of rejuvenation of Mandovi promenade, the inauguration of Saras exhibition, inauguration of raw water pumping station at Guirim, Inauguration of Art park at Porvoirm, Inauguration of fire station and cyclone shelter at Porvorim, inauguration of water resources tank at Porvorim and inauguration of underground cabling at Porvorim.
Looks like BJP is running against time before the Model Code of Conduct comes into force in Goa. CM is laying foundation stones and inaugurating many development projects, including many incomplete ones.

The haphazard work on the stretch of national highway by MVR has cost the lives of many Goans in accidents.
Similar is the story of Varnapuri highway, the Mapusa bus stand, and many others.
The shocking part is these projects, inaugurated at an incomplete stage, never get completed in Goa; see what they have done to Atal Setu. The Panaji arm, a stretch of just 300 meters, is still awaiting completion for the last three years now.
Luckily, the COVID19 pandemic saved the Zuari bridge as visas were not provided to the Chinese consultants. Otherwise, the BJP government would have by hook or crook completed one lane of the bridge by December 2021.
The work on the second bridge at Mala, Panaji, for the last four years and the work was deliberately delayed for its inauguration just ahead of elections. For this government, all that matters is showing off during elections and not caring about the common man’s sufferings.
Goa wants to know what the hurry is? The BJP says it is confident of winning at least 24 seats, so Chief Minister Dr Pramod Sawant inaugurated projects one after another in Goa ahead of the elections. People want to learn from Goa’s government and the Centre whether they were sleeping for four-and-a-half years and want to inaugurate it in 14 days?
This shows that the Promod-Modi double engine governments have not been able to do anything in Goa for the last four and half years.
Of Course, the back-to-back announcements, foundation stone laying of new projects and inaugurations of incomplete projects by Central and State Governments just before the announcement of the Assembly elections are not going to help that party (BJP) expand its voter base.
