PANAJI: Goa Chief Minister Dr. Pramod Sawant on Wednesday expressed concern over the killing of Chandranath Rath, considered a close associate of West Bengal opposition leader Suvendu Adhikari, stating that violence has no place in a democratic setup after elections.
Reacting to the incident, Sawant said such occurrences should not take place once the electoral process is over. He stressed that India functions on democratic principles and political parties must honour and accept the mandate delivered by the people.
The Chief Minister further said that maintaining peace and respecting democratic values is essential in a healthy political environment.
