ASSONORA: Chief Minister Pramod Sawant has strongly condemned recent remarks made against the media, stating that “no one has the right” to make statements targeting journalists or media organisations.
Speaking on the issue, the Chief Minister emphasised that if any individual or group has concerns regarding media reporting or conduct, those grievances should be raised through appropriate private channels rather than through public statements.
He reiterated that the media plays a crucial role in a democratic setup and must be treated with respect. “If there are issues, they should be discussed responsibly and not publicly in a manner that undermines the press,” Sawant said, while condemning such remarks.
Meanwhile, Gautam Khattar, founder of Sanatan Mahasangh, had sparked controversy after being released on bail on Saturday. Soon after his release, Khattar had criticised Goan journalists, accusing them of lacking journalistic ethics, remarks that have drawn widespread criticism from media circles and political leaders alike.
