BAGA: Chief Minister Dr. Pramod Sawant on Thursday said Goa is emerging as a preferred “work-from-beach” destination, with the state government promoting a mix of tourism, innovation and entrepreneurship to attract startups and remote professionals.
Speaking at the inauguration of the Goa Shackathon, Sawant said the younger generation today seeks flexibility, creativity and meaningful work environments, and Goa is creating opportunities for people to stay longer, work remotely and build ventures while enjoying the state’s lifestyle and natural surroundings.
The Chief Minister said the initiative is also expected to strengthen Goa’s growing startup ecosystem and position the state as a hub for innovation-driven tourism.
IT and Tourism Minister Rohan Khaunte said Goa is promoting a new work culture under the theme “Work, Unwind and Repeat,” where entrepreneurs, founders and innovators can combine work with the state’s beaches, cuisine and hospitality sector.
Khaunte credited the Chief Minister for supporting the concept and encouraging initiatives aimed at linking tourism with technology and entrepreneurship.
The Shackathon event was inaugurated in the presence of IT and Tourism Minister Rohan Khaunte and Calangute MLA Michael Lobo.
