PANAJI: While staying that people cannot survive without technology, the Chief Minister Pramod Sawant today said that the state government has brought in technology in the tourism.
CM Sawant was addressing the gathering after launching the Goa Taxi App in presence of Tourism Minister Rohan Khaunte and GTDC Chairman Ganesh Gaonkar and others.
“We have brought technology in the tourism sector. We cannot survive without technology. Safety is our main concern. If there is safety, tourist will prefer Goa as a destination,” said Sawant.
He further said that Goa doesn’t require quantity of tourists but require quality tourists because we have seen what effect it has in Goa when lot of tourists come to Goa.
“Goa is now overfull and it becomes difficult to handle such quantity of tourists. Quality of tourists will be beneficial to Goa and it’s tourism stakeholders,” he added.
Sawant said that Goa Taxi community will benefited with the launch of Goa Taxi App.
“Today we have to give people many options. No doubt the Goa Miles taxi app is doing well. People want many options,” he added.
Sawant further said that on the other there should be competition so that all taxi operations are smooth and healthy.
Speaking further, Tourism Minister Rohan Khaunte said those who are affiliated with this App will get benefits like a widow scheme, pension scheme, financial help for marriage, and also scholarships for their children.
“The taxi association has proposed these schemes, Khaunte said.
