PANAJI: Chief Minister Dr Pramod Sawant today informed that decision on mining corporation has already been taken and that the file in this regard has been sent to law department.
“The decision is already taken decision on the formation of mining corporation and the file in this regard has been sent to the law department.,” said CM Sawant
In a bid to resolve the three-year long mining imbroglio, the Dr Pramod Sawant-led BJP government announced the setting up of the Goa State Mining Corporation (GSMC).
The Chief Minister in his State Budget 2021-22 speech on the Floor of the House, also proposed to sign a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Mineral Exploration Corporation Ltd (MECL) to carry out mapping of mineral resources in the State and identify potential mining sites.
“In a bid to ensure resumption of mining activities and to provide relief to the people dependent on the sector, my government has been making constant efforts through judiciary as well as by pursuing Central Government,” Sawant had said.
