“I will be travelling to Delhi today along with State President Sadanand Tanavade, C.T. Ravi, Satish Dhond and Shripad Naik to attend the BJP Parliamentary meeting. The final list will be announced tomorrow,” said CM speaking to reporters.
Further, BJP State President Sadanand Shet Tanavade said that BJP will contest all 40 seats in Goa.
“Previously, we used to leave certain seats, but we will contest across 40 constituencies in Goa this time,” he added.
The BJP has been holding meetings with its core committee to finalise the names of the candidates. Former Maharashtra chief minister Devendra Fadanavis, who is the party’s in-charge of Goa elections, has been chairing meetings attended by BJP’s state unit president Sadanand Shet Tanavade and Sawant, among others.
The BJP is currently ruling Goa with 23 MLAs by its side as four legislators – Michael Lobo, Alina Saldanha, Carlos Almeida and Pravin Zantye – resigned from the party and the House in the past few days.
