PANAJI: The Mangaluru CCB sleuths arrested two persons and seized 35 grams of cocaine worth Rs Rs 2.72 lakh from their possession.
Following a tip, a team led by CCB inspector Shyam Sundar HM quickly intercepted a two-wheeler at Elyarpadavu Maidan in Ullal, which resulted in the suspects’ arrest.
The accused, who are both Amblamogaru residents, are Sadakath U, also known as Shan Nawaz (age 31), and Mahammed Ashfaq, also known as Ashfa (age 25).
A digital scale, three cell phones, and Rs. 5560 in cash were also taken from the accused’s possession by the police in addition to the cocaine haul, which was estimated to be worth Rs. 4 lakh.
Commissioner Agrawal stressed that the people who had been arrested were important members of the trafficking network who bought cocaine in Goa and sold it in Kerala and Karnataka. Additionally, the investigation has shown that multiple other people were involved in this illegal operation.
It has been revealed that Sadakath has an assault case at the Konaje Police Station and a prior case under the NDPS Act. The Mangaluru CEN station has registered the case, and an investigation is currently in progress.
