PANAJI: In a sharp attack on the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Yuva Morcha, Mahesh Nadar, Working President of the Goa Pradesh Youth Congress, has accused the BJP youth wing of acting as “puppets of fraudsters” and shielding rampant corruption under the BJP-led government in Goa.
Nadar’s strongly worded statement comes in response to recent protests by the BJP Yuva Morcha against the Congress party. “It is appalling that instead of raising their voice against the scams and frauds that have plagued Goa under BJP rule, the BJP youth are busy staging futile protests against us for exposing their party’s vendetta politics,” he said.
He questioned the selective silence of the BJP youth on a series of major alleged scams, including the Cash for Job scam, which he said shattered the dreams of thousands of educated Goan youths. He also pointed to the Kala Academy renovation scam, the Smart City project scam, and the Electoral Bonds controversy, calling them examples of how public institutions and funds have been misused.
“Where were your voices when culture was sold for commissions at Kala Academy? Why did you not protest when the Smart City project became a smart way to siphon public money?” he asked. Nadar further accused the BJP youth of being loyal not to Goa, but to a “handful of corrupt ministers who treat the state like their personal ATM.”
Calling on the BJP Yuva Morcha to burn effigies of those in power responsible for “looting Goa with impunity,” Nadar challenged them to stand up for real issues affecting the people. “If you have even an ounce of integrity left, stop being puppets of fraudsters and start standing with the people of Goa,” he said.
He concluded by reaffirming that the Youth Congress will continue to expose misdeeds and corruption, stating that the people of Goa are watching and that a “time of reckoning is near.”
