PANAJI: Felicitating the.COVID19 warriors from the Goa Human Development Corporation, Chief Minister Dr Pramod Sawant on Friday urged the Goa Human Resource Development Corporation (GHRDC) staff to upgrade their skills and pursue further education for which the Corporation would provide support.
The Chief Minister, who is the chairman of GHRDC, felicitated 30 security staff for their frontline services during COVID19 pandemic.
Shri Keshav Prabhu, vice-chairman, Managing Director Shri Derrick Neto, Jt Managing Director Shri Narayan Navti and SCERT Director Shri Nagraj Honnikeri, were also present for the function.
The Chief Minister also announced that the opportunity would be provided for the GHRDC staff whenever there is vacancy on contract basis or leave vacancies in government departments.
“We can accommodate the staff from this Corporation so that the need for frequent interviews and advertisement by government does not arise. Also, this will help our staff to hone their skills,” he said.
He added that their experience as steno, clerk, computer operator, LDC will count when the permanent vacancy arises in government departments.
CM also praised work of the staff of the Human Resource Development Corporation during COVID19 pandemic.
“Even relatives are scared to near COVID patient but our staff from GHRDC has done selfless service to the people of Goa by working in frontline. I congratulate you all for this,” he said.
He said the GRDC needs to expand its scope further and urged the staff to pursue further education.
“We need upgradation of skills and education also. There is a provision n Goa Board to complete 10th and 12th standard. You all are young and complete the education. The Corporation should support those who want to pursue further studies,” he said.
CM Sawant also stated that while several corporations are working in losses, the GHRDC is in profit and does not depend on government to pay salaries.
Joint Director Narayan Navti said that only thirty people felicitated in first phase due to social distancing norms.
