PANAJI: In view of rising COVID cases in the state of Goa, requirement for oxygen has gone up thus export on oxygen cylinders outside the state said Health Minister Vishwajit Rane
“Export on oxygen cylinders outside the state therefore been banned with immediate effect. All Industrial oxygen requirements will be diverted towards the health services, GMC & Covid hospitals,” said Rane
He further said that necessary directions have been issued to Secretary Health to coordinate with the respective collectors to issue an order under the Disaster Management Act, 2005 in public interest and to save people’s lives.
With the surge in cases, it is my appeal to those who are eligible for taking the vaccine to come forward and get vaccinated. The vaccine will act as a protective layer against the virus. Those eligible for the vaccine should not shy away,” he said in another tweet.
A senior Health Department official said that the vaccines are made available at all state-run health centres, where they would be administered free for people above 45 years.
“The vaccines are also available in private hospitals where they would be charging Rs 250 per dose,” he added.
He said that the beneficiaries should carry their Aadhar card with them while going for the vaccination.
