PANAJI: Crime Branch has arrested one Mrityunjay Jana (20) in Arpora in illegal possesion of 5kgs of ganja worth Rs 5,00,000.
The accused is a resident of Shafik, Miranda Hotel Baga, Calangute -Bardez Goa and a native of Near Ranisai School, Village-Bhograi, District- Balasore, Orissa. Bani Pith.
According to Crime Branch, they had specific and reliable information through reliable source informing that person namely Avijit, age about 20 to 25 years, n/o Orissa, wearing Maroon colour T-shirt and Blue colour short pant, will be coming to deliver Narcotic drugs Ganja, concealed in a blue colour polythene bag at near Hotel Marina Dourado, towards Baga side, Arpora, Bardez, Goa, to his prospective customer.
Acting on the information, accused person namely Avijit S/o Mrityunjay Jana wascaught red handed and was found in possession of blue colour polythene bag containing in it greenish colour leafy substance suspected to be narcotic drug ganja weighing 5 kgs worth Rs.5,00,000/- approximately in international market
The accused is placed under arrest u/s 20 (b) (ii) (B) of NDPS Act.
