PANAJI: Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) today has demanded strict action against the person responsible to post defamatory statements on social media thereby hurting Muslim sentiments.
AAP Minority Wing also submitted a memorandum to DGP Goa demanding arrest of culprit.
“We have submitted letter to DGP demanding strict action against the culprit. If the Chief Minister Pramod Sawant is with the minorities of Goa, they he should immediately take strict action,” said AAP Minority Wing letter.
AAP said that this post has not been posted by a Hindu, Muslim or Catholic, it has been posted by a demon.
“Some people only want to do politics in name of religion, this has been posted by someone staying in abroad,” he added
Muslim organisations have filed police complaints in Panaji, Margao, Ponda, and Mapusa, in this connection.
They also lodged a complaint with the cyber crime department, submitting that the persons who created fake accounts on Instagram and allegedly made some objectionable remarks against Prophet Muhammad and Islam, should be arrested.
“We are hurt by whatever comments are made on our religion. Christians, Hindus and Muslims are living together peacefully in Goa. We request Chief Minister Pramod Sawant and the police department to take action,” AAP said.
