PONDA: MGP MLA Sudin Dhavlikar on Thursday demanded the resignation of the Chief Minister and five other ministers who had supported the Bhumiputra Adhikarini Bill.
“Only original Goans can become Bhumiputra, and that migrant can’t get this status,” he said.
Dhavalikar said his Government could plan schemes for them but cannot grant the status of Bhumiputra.
He condemned the CM and Ministers for calling migrants Bhumiputra, stating that it is an insult to original Goans.
Dhavlikar has also demanded that the Government construct the houses washed away in the 23 July flood.
He said if Government can afford and propose to construct a Rs 100 crore Project for Verna Mahalsa Temple, then why can’t it build houses of flood-affected Bhumiputra
“If Government fails to construct the collapsed houses of flood-affected, then MGP would build it after coming to power in 2022 election,” he said.
He also said that due to climatic change, heavy rain is occurring.
“The people residing at river banks would face a flood-like situation in Goa, and therefore he urged people to protect environment and forest and plant trees,” he said.
Taking a potshot at GSIDC, he said, the Corporation had launched development works without proper legal formalities and land acquisition. “Due to this, Banastari Market would go in possession of the government, and local Bhoma Panchayat would deprive the control of the market as well as revenue from it,” he said.
Meanwhile, Dhavlikar today planted tree saplings at Goa Engineering College.
Later addressing to media, he appealed Government to start the Mining Engineering College at GEC.
He said the college has suspended the course from 2018-19 and urged to start it from 2021-22 with sponsorship from various companies.
