Thivim: Continuing its drive to uphold food safety standards, the Food and Drugs Administration (FDA) carried out a surprise inspection near Thivim railway station. Fourteen establishments—including restaurants, tea stalls, liquor wholesalers, and dry fruit outlets—were inspected.
Out of these, four units were ordered to shut down immediately due to unhygienic conditions, while the remaining were issued improvement notices with a 14-day deadline to comply. One previously inspected outlet was fined ₹5,000 for failing to meet food safety standards.
FDA officials said the inspections are part of a sustained effort to ensure hygienic food practices across Goa.
