PANAJI: FDA seized 280 kg of mawa and other dairy items worth Rs 50,400 items used for preparing sweets, in a raid on vehicle transporting the items and a sweet mart at Navelim.
The raids were related to violating food safety guidelines related to storage, labeling and packaging of food items ahead of festive season. 220 Kg “Khodal Bulk Sweet” intended for sweet production was seized from vehicle intercepted by FDA.
An inspection was conducted at the premises of sweet mart in Mandopa, Navelim where additional 60 kg of Khodal Bulk Sweet, which also lacked essential details, was recovered, informed FDA.
