MARGAO: Margao Town Police have registered a case against five persons following an alleged public fight near the railway station in Margao on August 31.
According to the complaint filed by ASI Minguel Vaz of Margao Town Police Station, the incident took place between 8.55 pm and 9.15 pm at a fast-food outlet owned by Lalchand Chauhan near the railway station.
The accused have been identified as Abhay Koli, a resident of Margao; Putuvar Chauhan, Margao; Shravan Kote, Davorlim; Rahil Pathan, Margao; and Ayaan, Margao.
Police said accused persons No. 1 and 2 were working at the fast-food outlet as a cook and helper respectively when they allegedly got involved in a fight with the others at a public place.
As a result of the altercation, Abhay Koli sustained a fracture injury to his leg, while the other persons allegedly suffered simple injuries. Police said the incident disturbed public peace.
Margao Town Police have registered Cr. No. 96/2026 under Sections 194(2), 115(2) and 117(2) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS).
Further investigation is being conducted by LPSI Sashanka Parab of Margao Town Police Station.
