PANAJI:Chief Minister Dr Pramod Sawant underscored the need for Goa to become self reliant and set an example for other States to emulate and added that our Government has implemented Swayampurna Goa programme, working on the “Antyodaya Tatva” i.e welfare schemes should reach to the last person of the society.
Sawant said that the Government is focusing on providing minimum Government and maximum Governance to the people through the administration system.
Chief Minister extended his greetings to the people of Goa and remembering the sacrifices of the freedom fighters said measures are being devised to achieve the goal of a developed India by 2047. Through various government initiatives, policies and programs, we can empower our State as well as our country, he added.
Speaking on the education system, the Chief Minister said Goa State ranks highest in the country in terms of literacy and now the goal is to improve the quality of education by absorbing the new changes through the NEP-2020 where all attempts are made for its successful implementation.
The Chief Minister informed that for the first time the government has relaxed the necessary recruitment rules to absorb 62 home Guards into the regular police service. Government would soon launch the “Har Ghar Fibre” scheme providing internet access to every household, he added. He reiterated the Government’s commitment to empower women.
