PANAJI: The Goa Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education (GBSHSE) has decided to continue its existing scheme permitting students of Class IX and Class XI who are declared ‘Needs Improvement’ in the academic year 2025–26 to appear as private candidates for the Secondary School Certificate (SSC) and Higher Secondary School Certificate (HSSC) public examinations.
According to a circular issued by the Goa Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education, students who appeared for Class IX and Class XI examinations during 2025–26 and received the ‘Needs Improvement’ remark will be eligible to register as private candidates for the SSC and HSSC examinations scheduled in the academic year 2026–27.
For the SSC examination, eligible candidates will be required to apply for all 10 subjects, including theory papers, practical examinations, and internal assessment components, in accordance with the current syllabus and evaluation pattern prescribed by the Board.
