The Goa Forward Party (GFP) president Vijai Sardesai has threatened to knock the door of the judiciary if government fails to open two floors of a new Hospicio hospital building to facilitate COVID patients.
Sardesai also tweeted “There’s oly one kind of citizens in #Goa today-concerned citizens! #Govt’s fantasy plans for #SouthGoaDistHospital is robbing #Fatorda #COVID19 patients of much needed beds and facilities. We demand absolute focus on the #pandemic, or as anxious citizens we will seek legal remedy.”
In a video released, Fatorda MLA alleged that the government has created a mess out of the pandemic situation and it is going from bad to worst.
“There are no beds. People have to use influence. Health department has kept two floors of hospicio vacant. Health minister is supporting the private medical college,” he said.
“Do something on an urgent basis or else we will have to knock the doors of the judiciary,” he said.
He said that there is a spike in COVID cases in Fatorda, which has turned out to be another hotspot, surpassing even the others.
“We are doing everything possible for our people without any politics. But we need the government to act quickly,” Sardesai added.
