MARGAO: A day after his appointment as permanant invitee to teh Congress Working Committe, former GPCC president Girish Chodankar has has thanked Congress President Malikarjun Kharge and the Gandhis for his appointment.
“I am thankful to Congress President Shri Mallikarjun Kharge Ji, CCP Chairperson Smt. Sonia Gandhi Ji, Shri Rahul Gandhi Ji, Shri K. C. Venugopal Ji & all senior leaders for appointing ordinary worker like me as permanent invitee of CWC. I am also thankful to all those who supported me while working in various positions in the party, right from booth president,” said Chodankar.
The Goa Pradesh Congress Committee has also congratulated Bahujan Samaj leader Girish Chodankar for being appointed as permanent invitee on Congress Working Committee.
“It is proud moment for the Congress workers and supporters in the state as common man like Girish Chodankar has got place in CWC, where many prominent leaders are playing role for the betterment of nation. I am thankful to our leader Rahul Gandhi and senior Congress leaders for giving Goa an opportunity on CWC,” GPCC Media Chairman Amarnath Panjikar said.
“For last several years, Girish Chodankar is working in the interest of Bahujan Samaj and has gained camaraderie with the people. It is honour of this samaj for giving its leader an opportunity at central level,” Panajikar said.
Girish Chodankar, who was initially a booth incharge was appointed as Youth Congress President. Impressed with his loyalty and performance, Rahul Gandhi elevated him as AICC secretary and also gave responsibility as In-Charge of NSUI. Later he was appointed as GPCC President. He was also given responsibility of Telangana state for ‘Hath Se Hath Jodo’ program.
He was also former president of Goa Kho Kho Association and Higher Secondary School Teachers’ Association, Goa.
Chodankar also contributed in ‘Goa Olympic Association’ as Vice president in the past.
