PANAJI: Giving priority to livelihood generation and community-based economic activity, the Goa Cabinet on Wednesday approved the Goa Livelihood Forum as the implementing agency for the operation and maintenance of the Sustainable Development Goa Multi-Product Processing Centres across the state.
The government will provide annual financial assistance of ₹1 crore for the initiative, which is aimed at strengthening local production, processing activities and sustainable livelihood opportunities.
Apart from the livelihood-focused decision, the Cabinet also approved the creation of 23 permanent posts in different categories under the Goa Rehabilitation Board to improve its functioning and service delivery mechanisms.
In another major decision, the state approved an MoU with Instape Synergies Pvt. Ltd. to introduce earned wage access along with salary and pension-linked advance facilities for government employees and pensioners. Officials said an agency has been appointed to accelerate implementation of the scheme.
Chief Minister Dr. Pramod Sawant said the decisions were aimed at improving livelihoods, strengthening welfare institutions and enhancing financial accessibility for citizens and employees in Goa.
