PANAJI: Goa Governor Pusapati Ashok Gajapathi Raju has said that Goa is well positioned to emerge as a model state for sustainable and inclusive development as India progresses towards its goal of becoming a developed nation by 2047.
Addressing a gathering, the Governor said the country is moving ahead in the Amrit Kaal period with a clear vision for national growth and transformation, and Goa has a unique opportunity to contribute significantly to that journey.
He emphasised that the state’s future success will depend largely on its young population, describing Goa’s youth as talented, ambitious and capable of driving innovation and progress across sectors.
“As India advances towards the Vision 2047 goal, Goa can set an example in balancing economic development with social inclusion and environmental sustainability,” the Governor said.
Raju expressed confidence that the next generation would play a pivotal role in shaping the state’s future and ushering in a new era marked by opportunity, excellence and prosperity.
He also stressed the importance of empowering young people through education, skill development and entrepreneurship, enabling them to take advantage of emerging opportunities in a rapidly changing world.
