PANAJI: Chief Minister Pramod Sawant today chaired a review meeting of the Directorate of Fire & Emergency Services and assessed the department’s operational preparedness, management and overall functioning.
“We reviewed the report on operations, preparedness and overall management of the Directorate of Fire & Emergency Services. A comprehensive review of departmental functioning was held, with a specific focus on streamlining the issuance of Fire Safety NOCs while ensuring strict adherence to safety norms,” the Chief Minister said.
Sawant said a general assessment of resources, response mechanisms and operational readiness was also carried out during the meeting. He directed officials to strengthen efficiency, improve inter-departmental coordination and enhance public service delivery.
“I have asked officials to further improve efficiency, coordination and response systems so that public safety and service delivery are strengthened,” he added.
The Chief Minister reiterated that while the government is committed to easing procedures and improving timelines, there will be no compromise on fire safety standards and preparedness.
