MARGAO: South Goa DEO Ms. Egna Cleetus, IAS, held a review meeting with the Nodal Officers appointed for the Regional Conference on “BLOs, ELC and ECINET”, scheduled to be held at Ravindra Bhavan, Margao, from September 2 to 3, 2026.
The meeting focused on reviewing the responsibilities assigned to each Nodal Officer and assessing the progress of preparations for the conference, which will be attended by Chief Election Commissioner of India Gyanesh Kumar.
The conference aims to promote electoral literacy among young and first-time voters and create greater awareness about India’s electoral system, voter registration, polling, counting and the role of the Election Commission of India.
It will also focus on strengthening Electoral Literacy Clubs (ELCs) as structured, visible and digitally enabled platforms through the ECINET portal.
During the meeting, officials reviewed arrangements including the mobile deposit facility, Model Polling Station, Model Counting Centre, backdrop, projector, LED screens, lamp decoration, seating arrangements and the welcome and see-off of guests and ECI dignitaries.
Protocol arrangements, stage preparation, venue and gate management, along with overall coordination, were also discussed.
The Nodal Officers were directed to coordinate with the concerned teams and complete their assigned responsibilities well in advance to ensure the smooth and successful conduct of the Regional Conference.
