PANAJI: Poriem MLA Deviya Rane chaired the 120th meeting of the Goa Forest Development Corporation (GFDC), where discussions were held on strengthening eco-tourism initiatives, improving infrastructure at the Botanical Garden and reviewing the recently concluded Goa Cashew Festival 2026.
The meeting was attended by Principal Chief Conservator of Forests Kamal Datta, Managing Director K. Ramesh Kumar, General Manager Amar Heblekar and other members of the Board.
Rane said the deliberations focused on enhancing visitor experiences across eco-tourism sites while ensuring sustainable development and environmental conservation. She noted that the proposed improvements at the Botanical Garden aim to further promote nature-based tourism and public engagement.
The meeting also reviewed the organisation and response to the Goa Cashew Festival 2026, with emphasis on strengthening community participation and showcasing Goa’s traditional produce and forest-based livelihoods.
Rane said such discussions continue to support the state’s broader vision of promoting responsible eco-tourism, conservation efforts and inclusive development across Goa.
