REVORA: Police have arrested Delhi native actor and activist Gaurav Bakshi in connection with verbal spat with Fisheries Minister Nilkath Halarnkar and his staff at Revora. He was brought to the Mapusa police station.
Locals marched to the Colvale Police Station today evening demanding that he should be brought to Colvale PS. The row between Bakshi and Halarnkar broke over the petty matter of giving way for each others vehicles near Revora Panchayat.
Following the incident, large number of locals gathered at Colvale Police station yesterday as well as today morning demanding Bakshi’s arrest. Bakshi, known for his roles in few web series and films, runs a legal tech start-up in Goa. He has also been part of the anti-corruption movement led by Anna Hazare.
Based in Goa but originally from Delhi, Bakshi has filed a countercomplaint alleging that he was threatened by the minister and his OSD.
Reportedly, the incident happened at 4:15 p.m. when Halarnkar had gone to a Revora panchayat-organized sapling distribution program.
Over the parking of their separate cars, the minister’s OSD and Bakshi got into a fight.
