Panaji: The Goa Industrial Development Corporation (Goa-IDC) announces the launch of the “Goa-IDC Exit Support Scheme” for its industrial plots. This scheme, officially introduced by the Honourable Chief Minister of Goa, Dr. Pramod Sawant, aims to facilitate the orderly exit of non-functional industrial units from various industrial estates across the state, promoting better utilization of resources and encouraging new industrial growth.
The announcement was held in the presence of several key dignitaries including the Minister for Industries, Shri.Mauvin Godinho, Chairman,Goa-IDC, Shri.Aleixo Reginaldo Lourenco, V. Candavelou, IAS, Principal Secretary (Finance), Swetika Sachan, IAS, Secretary (Industries) and Mr. Pravimal Abhishek, MD Goa-IDC. Among the other notable attendees were Egna Cleetus, Director of Industries, Shrinivas Dempo, President – GCCI, Manguirish Pai Raikar, Chairman–ASSOCHAM/ Member of Executive Committee-FICCI, Anirudh Dempo, President-GSIA, Stephen Fernandes, Chief Electrical Engineer – Electricity Department, Lalit Sharaswat, Past Chairman-CII, Sandeep Sood, Director-Goa-IDC and Sanjay Amonkar, Director General-GCCI.
Honourable Chief Minister of Goa, Dr. Pramod Sawant expressed optimism about the scheme, emphasizing its potential to enhance industrial efficiency and economic development in Goa. He stated that “the “Exit Support Scheme” aims to streamline the process for non-functional units to exit the industrial estates, thereby making way for new and functional industrial ventures that can contribute to the economic growth of the state. This scheme is expected to rejuvenate the industrial landscape in Goa, ensuring better utilization of resources and infrastructure and create more jobs in state”.
Minister for Industries, Shri Mauvin Godinho, stated that the “Exit Support Scheme” is a crucial step towards revitalizing Goa’s industrial estates. He emphasized, “The “Goa-IDC Exit Support Scheme,” operational for one year, will encompass over 12 lakh square meters of unused industrial land. This initiative aims to facilitate the utilization of this land by prospective entrepreneurs, ensuring that it serves its intended purpose of fostering industrial growth and development in the state of Goa.
The new incentives under the Exit Support Scheme are designed to facilitate smoother transitions and foster economic growth within the state’s industrial sector. These incentives aim to support both current lessees and prospective transferees, ensuring optimal utilization of industrial plots and encouraging new investments. The Corporation, in collaboration with the Goa Investment Promotion Board and industry bodies, shall endeavour to organise Transferor-Transferee meetings and publicise the Plots available on Transfer in newspapers, government websites, etc.
The new measures to facilitate the Exit Support Scheme, will provide lessees with streamlined procedures for transferring leasehold rights. Lessees intending to transfer their leasehold rights under the scheme can now submit a letter of intent in the prescribed Form-I format. To ensure maximum visibility and connectivity between transferors and potential transferees, the Corporation will take several steps to publicize the list of lessees who have expressed their intent to transfer. These steps include monthly publications of the list in local newspapers, regular updates on the websites of both the Goa-IDC and the Goa Investment Promotion Board and circulation of the list to all industry bodies for wider dissemination.
