PANAJI: After the successful completion of the first phase of the auction of Goa Mining leases, the Directorate of Mines and Geology has issued a notice inviting a Tender for five more iron ore blocks in Goa.
Following are the five blocks
Block V – Advalpale-Thivim Mineral Block (North Goa);
Block VI- Cudnem-Cormolem Mineral Block (North Goa); Block VII- Cudnem Mineral Block (North Goa); Block VIII- Thivim-Pirna Mineral Block (North Goa);
Block IX- Surla-Sinshi Mineral Block (North Goa)
The notice reads, “In exercise of the powers conferred by Section 10(B) of the Mines and Minerals (Development and Regulation) Act, 1957 and in accordance with the Mineral (Auction) Rules, 2015 notified thereunder, as amended from time to time notified thereunder, the Government of Goa has identified 05(five) Mineral Blocks of iron ore mineral for electronic auction and hereby invites tenders for the purposes of grant of Mining Lease.”
Accordingly, it says financial bids are invited in digital format only, and technical bids are invited both in digital and physical format from eligible bidders.
“Eligibility conditions, date and time for participating in the electronic auction are provided in the Tender Document. Detailed Tender Documents along with timelines, notifications updates and other details for the e-auction process for the mineral blocks are available in electronic form only and can be downloaded from the website of MST Limited: httos://www.mstcecommerce.com/auctionhome/mic//index.isp).”
Interested and eligible bidders can register themselves on the above website. On successful registration, eligible bidders will obtain the login ID and password necessary for participation in the e-auction process, it said.
Model Tender Document and Mineral Block Summary are available free of cost on the website of MSTC Limited.
The last date for the purchase of Tender Document after payment of the Tender fee on the website of the e-auction platform provider is March 17, 2023, and the last date for submission of the bid is March 27, 2023, on or before 17:00 hours (Indian Standard Time).
The price of Tender document is Rs 5 lakhs.
Four mining blocks — Bicholim Block 1, Bicholim Block 2, Monte de Shirgaon and Kalay — were eventually put up for e-auction in early December.
Several companies participated in the process and Vedanta Resources won the first ‘Bicholim Block I’ with a bid of 63.55 percent.
The ‘Bicholim Block II’ was bagged by the Salgaocar Shipping Company of the late Anil Salgaocar group, with whopping bid of 99.25 per cent.
The third block to be auctioned — Monte de Shirgaon — went to Rajaram N S Bandekar & Company which won it with the highest 111.28 percent.
