PANAJI: Chief Minister Pramod Sawant today said that state government has tied up with Tata to create model ITIs in Goa.
“State government has tied up with Tata to create model ITIs in Goa. One has already been done at Althino with the help of union government,” said Sawant
He further said that these model ITIs will be a game changer as students will have on site training and skills.
He further said that state government and Tata group will invest Rs 230 crore to upgrade Industrial Training Institutes (ITIs) in Goa.
There are 10 government and three private ITIs in the state and 43 courses are conducted in these ITIs.
Sawant said that the state government will sign a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Tata group for skill development.
“Tata group will invest Rs 160 crore in state run ITIs. We are signing a MoU on Saturday. The state government is spending Rs 70 crore,” he added
Sawant said that totally Rs 230 crore would be spent in the next two years to upgrade all ITIs for human resource skilling,” the CM said. He said that this initiative will improve our skills.
