PANAJI: The Goa State Price Monitoring and Resource Unit has implemented Trade Margin Rationalisation (TMR) for 137 identified non-scheduled anti-cancer medicines, marking a significant step towards making cancer treatment more affordable in the state.
The revised prices will come into effect from November 9, 2026, and will remain in force until further orders.
The National Pharmaceutical Pricing Authority (NPPA), under the Department of Pharmaceuticals, Ministry of Chemicals and Fertilizers, has recommended trade margin rationalisation for 137 non-scheduled anti-cancer medicines to improve the affordability of essential drugs for patients.
Manufacturers of the identified anti-cancer medicines have been directed to submit revised Maximum Retail Price (MRP) details to the NPPA and the concerned State Drug Controller within seven days of the publication of the order in the Official Gazette.
Failure to submit the revised price information will be treated as non-reduction of the MRP and may lead to action by the NPPA to recover overcharged amounts under the applicable provisions of the Drugs (Prices Control) Order, 2013.
As per Paragraph 25(3) of the DPCO, 2013, retailers, dealers, hospitals and institutions are required to display price lists and supplementary price lists, as provided by manufacturers, prominently at their business premises in a manner accessible to anyone wishing to consult them.
Violations of the prescribed provisions may result in action by the NPPA for recovery of overcharged amounts in accordance with the relevant provisions of the DPCO, 2013.
For further details, the public can visit the NPPA website at www.nppa.gov.in or the Goa FDA website at www.dfda.goa.gov.in.
The initiative is aimed at strengthening price regulation and improving access to essential anti-cancer medicines for patients.
