PANAJI: Health Minister Vishwjit Rane today said that Goa Medical College (GMC) has surpassed private hospitals in quality.
“GMC surpasses private hospitals in quality. It delivers outstanding care, not only to Goans but also to out-of-state patients. What distinguishes GMC is its unmatched provision of free healthcare services,” said Rane.
He further said that the commitment and service of the medical staff are truly praiseworthy. GMC stands out with its superior facilities and services, including the renovation of both old and new buildings and the acquisition of state-of-the-art equipment.
“Taking the state of Goa to a new level with a boost in healthcare and infrastructure, the GMCH (Goa Medical College and Hospital) now has state-of-the-art facilities for cardiac patients,” he added.
Rane said that with the cath lab and CCU, the premier health institution is equipped with top-notch equipment, which has reduced the waiting time of cardiac patients from 1 month to 10 days, with the provision of free stents, medication, coils, pacemakers, and much more making the initiative one of its kind in the world.
The minister said that GMC stands as a prime example of a government hospital where people from not only in India but abroad have also got benefitted from the health care facilities.
“I am elated to announce that with the new facilities, even the most complex cardiac surgeries can be performed with ease and at a low cost in GMC,” he added.
