PANAJI: The India Meteorological Department (IMD), Goa, today issued a yellow alert for
the State on December 5, forecasting thunderstorms accompanied with lightning at isolated places
over North and South Goa districts.
“Thunderstorms accompanied with lightning are very likely at isolated places over North Goa and South Goa districts on December 5,” the IMD said.
Meanwhile, the IMD said the well-marked low pressure area (Remnant of Cyclonic Storm “FENGAL”) over North Interior Tamil Nadu persisted over the same area at 8.30 am on December 2.
The remnant low pressure area is likely to emerge into southeast and adjoining east-central Arabian Sea off north Kerala-Karnataka coasts around December 3.
