CALANGUTE: Calangute police has arrested oneUttar Pradesh native for illegal gambling activities.
On Thursday, Calangute Police Station received information from reliable sources that online gambling activities were being carried out in one closed premises at Calangute market area. Accordingly, a Police Team headed by Police Sub Inspector Shri Kiran G Naik was constituted and conducted a gambling raid on the said premises and caught red-handed one Ajay Kumar s/o Mannoolal, age 32 years r/o Tiskar Porvorim Bardez Goa n/o Uttar Pradesh and also seized gambling material all worth Rs. 42,000/- including cash amount of Rs. 1,500/-.
An offence u/s 3 & 4 of the Public Gambling Act stands registered and the accused Ajay Kumar was placed under arrest after observing all Supreme Court guidelines.
The police Team consisting of PSI Kiran Naik, PC-6118 Amir Garad & PC-6644 Vijay Naik, did an excellent job in conducting a gambling raid and seizing property worth Rs. 42,000/- approximately.
Further investigation is in progress under the supervision of PI Shri Paresh G Naik and SDPO Porvorim Shri Vishwesh Karpe under the overall supervision of SP North Shri Nidhin Valsan, IPS.
