PANAJI: Goa’s table tennis fraternity is set for an exciting week as the Ulhas Jewellers BPS Major Ranking Table Tennis Tournament 2026 gets underway at the Multipurpose Stadium in Fatorda from July 30 to August 5. The prestigious championship will bring together some of the state’s finest players, led by the much anticipated return of national star Wesley Do Rosario.
Joining Wesley in the star studded lineup are rising talents Chandan Caro, Aaron Farias, Ishita Colaso, and Yug Prabhu, all of whom are expected to feature prominently during the seven day competition.
Organised by BPS Sports Club under the aegis of the Goa Table Tennis Association, with support from Ulhas Jewellers, the tournament will see matches begin daily at 3 pm. The event remains one of the most important fixtures on the GTTA calendar and is expected to showcase the depth of table tennis talent in Goa.
The championship will feature 12 categories, covering boys’ and girls’ events in the Under 9, Under 11, Under 13, Under 15 and Under 19 age groups, along with the Senior Men’s and Senior Women’s competitions. The wide range of categories is designed to provide competitive opportunities for both emerging players and experienced campaigners.
GTTA President Sudin Verenkar lauded BPS Sports Club for its continued commitment to promoting the sport and recognised its consistent efforts in successfully hosting the ranking tournament every year.
Meanwhile, GTTA Vice President and event promoter Vikram Verlekar said the growing popularity of major events such as Ultimate Table Tennis and the World Table Tennis Star Contender has generated fresh enthusiasm for the sport. He added that grassroots competitions like the Major Ranking Tournament play a crucial role in identifying and developing young talent while strengthening the future of table tennis in Goa.
With a strong field of participants from across the state, the championship promises a week of intense competition and quality performances across every category.
