CANACONA: In a realization of long pending demand, Speaker Ramesh Tawadkar laid the foundation stone of a 11 km long water-supply pipeline at Poinguinim village.
Stating the people’s aspirations were being raised in every gramsabha of Poinguinim.
Tawadkar informed the present panchayat body took the matter seriously, more than often bringing to his attention in the last one and half years, which ultimately made it possible to commence the works henceforth and complete it in a couple of months.
Poinguinim Sarpanch Savita Tawadkar (incidentally, the wife of Canacona MLA/GLA Speaker), Dy. Sarpanch Sunil Paigankar, panch members Pravir Bhandari and most of the pancha’s besides prominent citizens were present in large numbers.
The 11-Kilometre Water –Pipeline will laid to Poingujinim, Welwada, and to Chiplem upto Kargal at a costs of Rs.1.65 Crores.
Speaker further Tawadkar said, the long pending issue of water-woes of Poinguinim, Welwada, Chiplem , Kargal for many years now will be solved and all these areas will get proper, regular and clean water thereafter.
Including Canaocna BJP Mandal President Vishal Dessai, panch (Pooinguinim) and BJP (South) Vice-President Mahesh Naik, leader Chanda Dessai, Vinda Satarkar, Satish Painginkar, CMC Councillor Hemantkumar Naikgaonkar, Loliem-Polem Panch Ajay Lolienkar, Agonda Panch Fatima Rodrigues, PWD (Water-Supply) Engineers, were also present.
