Panaji: The Rashtriya Parshuram Parishad (Goa Pradesh Chapter) and Panaji Nav Varsha Swagat Samiti, in collaboration with the Department of Information and Publicity, Government of Goa, and the Entertainment Society of Goa (ESG), are set to organise the Gomantak Janak Bhagwan Parshuram Avtaran Mahotsav 2026 at the Mandovi Promenade in Panaji from April 19 to April 26, 2026.
The seven-day Mahotsav will be inaugurated on April 19 by Goa Chief Minister Dr. Pramod Sawant. The festival commemorates the birth anniversary of Gomantak Janak Bhagwan Parshuram Ji and is expected to draw devotees, spiritual leaders, dignitaries, and cultural representatives from across India. It aims to celebrate India’s spiritual heritage, promote cultural values, and highlight Goa as a prominent destination for pilgrimage and spiritual tourism.
Shri Prempal Singh, President of the Rashtriya Parshuram Parishad (Goa Pradesh Chapter), stated that the Mahotsav is not merely a celebration of Bhagwan Parshuram’s birth anniversary but a reaffirmation of spiritual heritage and cultural traditions. He said the event would promote devotion, unity, and cultural continuity, and appealed to Goans to participate in large numbers with their families.
The celebrations will commence on April 19 with a traditional Kalash Yatra and ceremonial lamp lighting, followed by the Mahaarti of Bhagwan Parshuram. From April 19 to April 25, daily programmes will be held at the venue, including Bhagwan Parshuram Katha Vachan by Param Pujya Dilip Krishna Bhardwaj Ji Maharaj from April 20 to April 24, narrating spiritual teachings and the life of Bhagwan Parshuram from ancient texts. Organisers described this as a unique initiative in India.
A Mahaarti will be performed every evening by priests from Kashi, creating a devotional atmosphere along the banks of the Mandovi River. The programme will also feature daily light and sound shows on the Parshuram statue, depicting his legacy and teachings, along with pooja ceremonies, cultural programmes, and devotional gatherings throughout the week.
Shri Mahesh Kandolkar, President of Nav Varsha Swagat Samiti, Panaji, said Bhagwan Parshuram’s life symbolises dharma, courage, and service to society. He noted that the Mahotsav aims to connect younger generations with these values while showcasing Goa’s significance as a centre for spiritual tourism. He also urged citizens to participate and make the event a historic success.
The Mahotsav will conclude on April 26, marking eight days of spiritual discourse, cultural performances, and community participation. Organisers expect the event to witness large-scale attendance from across the country, fostering devotion, unity, and cultural continuity while reinforcing Goa’s commitment to preserving and promoting India’s rich spiritual and cultural heritage.
