VASCO: On the occasion of the 76th birth anniversary of late Matanhy Saldanha, Goencho Raponkaracho Ekvott and MP Capt. Viriato Fernandes voiced strong criticism against the BJP government for its environmental policies and negligence towards Goa’s fishing community.
They highlighted the rampant destruction of natural ecosystems and the adverse effects on traditional fishing livelihoods.
During the garlanding ceremony at Cansaulim Market Circle, both groups reiterated their commitment to protect Goa’s environment and its coastal heritage, calling for greater accountability and sustainable development measures to safeguard the interests of the state’s fishermen.
