PANAJI: Two new Marathi collections of essays, Manvedh and Avirat, authored by Shri Shyam Anant Gaonkar, will be released at a book publication ceremony on Friday, August 28, 2026, at 4 pm at the Mini Hall, Institute Menezes Braganza Hall, Panaji.
The books, which focus on new ideas aimed at providing positive energy and direction to adolescents stepping into youth and young people, will be released by Kerala Governor Shri Rajendra Arlekar.
The programme will be attended by Shri Abhir Hede, Director, Department of Information and Publicity; Shri Dashrath Parab, Chairman, Institute Menezes Braganza; and journalist Shri Sangam Govind Bhonsule as special guests. Bhonsule will also share his views on both books.
The essay collections explore a range of subjects intended to provide positive direction to adolescents and young people, encourage them to view life with optimism and stimulate their thinking. The writings draw upon observations of social events, personal experiences and reflection, and seek to offer readers intellectual inspiration and encouragement.
Avirat has received pre-publication financial assistance from the Goa Marathi Academy.
Author Shyam Anant Gaonkar has been writing based on his experience in journalism and his study of various events and developments in social life. His writings bring together social awareness, positive thinking and human values.
Gaonkar has previously published two Konkani plays as well as a translated book titled Shivkalin Jalniti.
Readers, literature enthusiasts, friends and well-wishers have been invited to attend the programme and be part of the occasion marking an important milestone in the author’s literary journey.
