PANJIM: Alleging that state government is supporting drugs business in Goa, Goa Forward Party (GFP) Leader and Siolim MLA Vinod Palyekar today demanded with Prime Minister Narendra Modi to sack Chief Minister Dr Pramod Sawant and hand over the position to a worthy cabinet minister.
Adressing the media, Palyekar said, “On 15 August PM Narendra Modi in his speech spoke about drug free India and here in Goa just two days after, a rave party is conducted in which a Bollywood actor is the prime accused.”
He said, “I think the new DGP might not be aware of the link between the state government and drug nexus and that is the reason, the raid was Conducted.”
Palyekar further said that he appeals the Primse Minister through this press conference remove Dr Pramod Sawant as Chief Minister and hand over chair to worthy cabinet minister like Vishwajit Rane or Michael Lobo.
“It has come to the notice that the prime accused Kapil Jhaveri had also met CM, Rajya Sabha MP Vinay Tendulkar and Mandrem MLA Dayanand Sopte. There a film called Udta Punjab and now the same is happening in Goa, we can call it Udta Goa” Palyekar said
In all 23 people including three foreigner women were arrested by police busting the rave party on Saturday night at a villa in Vagator village.
Judicial Magistrate First Class in Panaji on Sunday remanded 40-year-old Jhaveri along with three foreign national women for five days police custody, he said.
Crime Branch said that during the raid, drugs like cocaine, MDMA, charas and other chemical substance was recovered from the party venue.
