Govt to introduce pink force for safety of women: CM

PANAJI: Chief Minister Pramod Sawant today said that the state government will be introducing a pink force for the safety of women in Goa.

“My government will launch a pink force for the safety of women in the state. We have to keep working on maintaining the law and order situation in the country,” said CM Sawant speaking at the valedictory Departmental Training Programm for Junior Scale Officer(DYSP)

He further said that Goa crime detection rate is the highest in the country and urged the authorities to work on the prevention of crimes against women.

“A list of all vulnerable and dark spots had been made, and a request is made to the Department of Tourism to ensure adequate lighting and CCTV facilities for women’s safety in the state,” he added

Meanwhile, Chief Minister also said that the women helpdesk has been setup at all police stations in Goa while the Women helpline 1091 is functioning from SPCR Panaji.
