PANAJI: Goa Pradesh Congress Committee (GPCC) today has filed a disqualification petition against Michael Lobo and Digambar Kamat for anti-party activities and hatching conspiracy for joining the BJP.
“The Congress has filed a disqualification petition against its own MLAs Digambar Kamat and Michael Lobo. We had warned for strict action,” said GPCC President Amit Patkar.
Congress President Amit Patkar, Deputy CLP Leader Sankalp Amonkar, Working President & MLA Yuri Alemao, Altone D’Costa, Adv. Carlos Alvares Ferreira, Rajesh Faldessai, and Rudolf Fernandes called on the Speaker of the Goa Legislative Assembly, urging him to change Seating Arrangements in the House according to the CLP Resolution removing Michael Lobo as CLP Leader.
“The BJP did not get the two-thirds of Congress MLAs required to split the party. But they definitely made attempts,” said Patkar.
Congress Spokesperson and legal expert Adv Shriniwas Khalap said that decision on disciplinary action will be taken against Calangute MLA Michael Lobo for anti-party activities after due process while stating that all other MLAs are together and united.
